Today is a day that we set aside to honor the fathers in our lives. One day really isn’t enough to properly express my love, gratitude, and appreciation for all that my dad and husband deserve! We celebrated with my dad yesterday, so that the girls and I could have today for their daddy! My dad is an amazing father and an unbelievable Papa!! I loved my grandpa dearly when I was a kid, but he was not healthy and wasn’t able to do things with us. He had emphysema and suffered from it tremendously. My grandma was grandma and grandpa all rolled up in one, and she was phenomenal, but when I see my dad with my kids and nieces and nephews I see what I missed. To say that my dad ADORES his grandchildren might be a gross understatement! He will drop anything to be with them . . . he’s taken them camping, to Disneyland, Legoland, on dates, snuggled with them, changed their diapers, and poured in to them in ways that he doesn’t have to. All my kids know is that their Papa is pretty amazing and he’d walk through fire for them! He is giving of his time and money and my girls just love to be with him! I am so thankful for my dad and for his integrity, love, and true example of godliness!
They have been equally blessed with an amazing daddy!! The squeals of joy when they hear him nearing the house are just about the sweetest sounds you will ever hear! He’s a hard worker and desires the best for his girlies! I love seeing them all snuggled up in bed together . . . usually watching some sporting event! I love when he has to run back in the house in the morning just because Madelynn needed one more kiss good-bye!! He can often be found with the three of them around him watching some Disney movie (true testament of his love, since he has a strong dislike for all things disney), playing ‘Punzal and Ryder with Madelynn, doing a crazy dance with Lily, or taking Ellie to practice golf. I’m thankful for his love for the Lord! He’s a good man and a great daddy!!!
